My stay at the Royal Tulip On The Beach Shanghai was a bit of a mixed bag. The rooms were modern and stylish with a stunning view, but the service left a lot to be desired and the air conditioning didn't work, making it uncomfortable. Overall, I'd say it has potential but needs some improvements.
I really loved my room, which was large and modern with a nice ocean view. However, it got really hot since the AC didn't work during my stay.
While some staff members spoke English, the service itself felt lackluster. There were times when I was left waiting, and checks-in were a bit chaotic.
The hotel is decent if you enjoy being by the beach, but it’s a bit far from downtown Shanghai.
Breakfast was okay, with options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, but I wished for more variety and better quality.
The hotel had some nice features but, it seemed somewhat underutilized during my stay. The basic amenities were there but nothing extraordinary.

Adjacent to an artificial sand beach and a promenade, the location is great for leisurely walks. although being far from downtown Shanghai can be inconvenient, especially given the 90-120 minute commute.
Breakfast options were adequate with choices for both North American and Chinese tastes. yet, the overall quality could surely improve to make it more inspiring.
